What is included in the tour

 

  • Mentioned cost is cost per person in a group of 6 with standard category accommodation. Cost can vary depending upon group size and accommodation category.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival and local Sightseeing

Arrive at Leh airport or at Leh bus stand by yourself and check into the Hotel that we have booked for you. You are advised to take complete rest for the day to adapt yourself with the new environment at 11,135 feet altitude. Later, in the evening you can visit the Leh Market, Leh Palace, known as ‘Lachen Palkhar’ or Shanti Stupa, located on a hilltop near Changspa, reaching the top you will see the beauty of whole Leh town.

Day 2 - Ride from Leh – Khardung La (5602m) – Hunder (4000m)

Today we will drive northward from Leh to Nubra valley, which is considered one of the most scenic valleys in the entire trans-Himalayan region. The valley boasts a unique landscape with sand dunes, lush green oasis and snow peaks, along with beautiful monasteries and villages. We will be crossing the Khardungla pass (18,380ft), considered the Highest all weather motorable pass in the world. The Pass has become a dream destination for bikers and adventurous souls from all across the world, we can click some photos, grab a hot tea from the cafeteria and start riding towards Nubra valley.  We will drive past the North Pullu check post, and through the narrow roads and blind curves to reach Diskit in the afternoon. We will visit the Diskit monastery, and the Maitreya Buddha statue which ideally sits atop a small hill overlooking the valley, the view from there is incredible.

Further, we will drive to the Hunder Sand dunes, which is among the most visited place in Ladakh and also enjoy the camel ride. Nubra is the only place in India where these camels exist.

Day 3 - Nubra – Pangong Tso (4350m) via Shayok

Today we will drive to the world famous Pangong lake, probably the most famous attraction of Ladakh. We will drive through the Shayok road, which is one of the most scenic drives in the region.  Pangong lake a high altitude border lake measuring 134km in length and about 5 Km in width at the widest point. About 40 percent of the lake is in Ladakh while the remaining is in Tibet. The unique feature of the lake is the west end of the Lake which is in Ladakh is saline and supports no marine life except for a few micro-vegetation. The eastern end in Tibet is fresh and taste sweet.  Once reaching Pangong, we will check into the camp/homestay we have booked for you.

Day 4 - Drive from Pangong Tso (4350m) to Tsomiriri via Tsagala

Early morning, enjoy the sunrise at Pangong lake and enjoy the tranquillity at the village. The drive to Tsomorriri will start soon thereafter. We will drive alongside the lake on the dirt trail towards Chushul, the place where the Indian army fought to the last man, last round against the Chinese in 1962 Sino-Indian war. Further, we will dive over the Tsaga-la pass up to the Loma bend and divert towards Sumdo village.  The ride would continue towards Tsomorriri. It’s known for the wildlife and migratory bird And is actually called the Tsomorriri Wetland Conservation along with its surroundings.

Day 5 - Tsomiriri to Leh via Taglangla

Early morning after enjoying the sunrise at the Tsomoriri lake and having our breakfast,  we will ride towards the Tsokar Lake. Tsokar is a small lake known for its salt deposits in ancient Ladakh and also being the hot spot for birding and some of the rarest wildlife. We will drive through some scenic landscape and drive through Polakongkala and also through Puga hot springs. Further, drive through the off-road trails to the Highway and return back to Leh via Taglang-la and Upshi.

Day 6 - Departure from Leh

Early morning our driver will pick you up and transfer to the Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Leh airport to board a flight back to your next destination. The journey ends with lots of memories and adventure stories to be related once back home.
